Thiagalingam is a native of Karainagar , Sri Lanka. Born in 1967 as the third son of Velupillai Ratnam and Ratnam Parameshwari, he did his primary education at the minor section of Karainagar Yarlton College, followed by his ordinary standard in Yarlton College and higher standard in Karainagar Hindu College.

In 1984, he joined the Tamil Eelam People's Liberation organization and left to fight for the Tamils' dream of a separate country. He also received military training in Tamil Nadu. He studied politics in Chennai and worked as a teacher to teach it to his comrades. His works were published in the local camp magazine and the magazine published by the Tamil Eelam student organization.

Finally, he participated in the conference of Tamil Eelam People's Liberation Organization held in Tiruvarur, after the wisdom there, he renounced the movement and went on his way and settled in Chennai. However, due to the trouble in Chennai, he migrated from there and went to Norway.

He then studied further in Norway and became a computer engineer, from where he has been writing since 1987. Some of his poems were first published in Irani, Veerakesari, etc., and poems written in Norwegian were published in Finnmarken. In addition, short stories and novels in Tamil were published in Sarvadesa Tamilar from Norway. His main works are novels, short stories and short novels.

He was friends with the late Ponnuthurai and published his first nine works through Mitra Publishing House. Later, he is publishing his works as a self-publisher in order not to pollute the environment. Ponnuthurai describes him as “Making the tragedies that happen in real life from the point of view of a socially responsible person. Subjects issues to conceptual investigation. Thus, we can recognize that every literary fiction of his has been developed in conjunction with every social concern.”
